Gabriel Araiza, 1209 Machado — felt that staff was committed to what was in the original plan
for this trail and was in support of the project, including shutting down the section of trail
between Heinz Ranch/Mingoia and Machada Place.
Jordy & Hilary Strain, 1332 Rhone Place — asked about the timeline for completion of the
project, commented on original traffic circles on Vineyard Avenue, and access to Vineyard for
homeowners living in the area. Mr. Strain advised that homeowners be informed of when
construction items are taking place. Mrs. Strain mentioned that drag racing currently occurs at
night along the section of Old Vineyard that is still open to vehicular traffic and that it is
dangerous.
Mr. Gruber advised that staff is anticipating a 60-working day period for construction of the
project and Mr. Nelkie provided timeline information for construction advising that the main
work would be paving of the intersections and impacts should be minor. He also noted that
everyone within a specific area would be notified of the project and he City would make sure
that everyone had access to their homes.
Mrs. Roberts asked about traffic concerns and being able to have well access.
Mrs. Strain asked about issues with the pulverization process. Mr. Nelkie advised that the City
writes a number of things into project contracts to help take care of any concerns that may
arise.
Mark Kane, 892 Chateau Heights Court — commented on City's responsibility for damage to
his property during construction — specifically impact to his pool. Mr. Nelkie advised that such
would be addressed by the City and information will be provided on steps to follow for any
possible claims.
Aaron Harrosh, 1076 Heinz Ranch Court — commented on Machado traffic and expressed his
concerns for safety of children. He liked that the project allows for traffic to be broken and
coming from different areas. Mr. Harrosh felt something still needed to be done to address
traffic impacts.
Mr. Gruber noted that all comments will be taken into consideration and included into the Staff
Report that will be presented to City Council.
Melissa Toh, 1052 Heinz Ranch Court — agreed with comments made by Mr. Harrosh and felt
that people will be affected by these concerns. Ms. Toh commented on accidents that have
occurred in the area and other sections that are dangerous and need to be considered.
Mr. Gruber advised that staff would address all concerns raised at this meeting and Mr.
Tassano advised that his staff will look at this area again and provide updated information.
Michelle Sezen, 924 Mingoia Street — indicated that her concerns were the same as those
raised by Mr. Harrosh and Ms. Toh. She was also concerned about requirements for Fire
Department access to the area.
Old Vineyard Avenue Trail—Neighborhood Meeting Summary Notes
March 2, 2017
Page 3
