Ms. Monica advised that the grant would allow them to purchase new equipment <br /> and expand the program. Commissioner Wright indicated that she liked that Sunflower was <br /> working with Las Positas College on this program. <br /> Will Loew / Jessica Pedden — Tri-City Health Center / East County HIV — provided information <br /> about the HIV services provided by Tri-City Health Center. Mr. Loew advised that the grant <br /> requested would allow them to hire someone to provide services in the Tri-Valley area. He <br /> commented on the close working relationship they have established with the City of Livermore <br /> and the work being established to get people to learn about the care they provide. <br /> Commissioner Wright discussed with Mr. Loew the number of people that have fallen out of <br /> care and questioned who would be receiving the services to be provided by a Case Manager. <br /> Commissioner Parekh asked about the availability of funds from the Ryan White organization <br /> and was informed that they were not always available. <br /> Christine Dillman — Tri-Valley Haven / Capital Improvement Project — advised that this is the <br /> 40th year that Tri Valley Haven has been providing services in the Tri-Valley area. Ms. Dillman <br /> advised that the Capital grant would allow them to purchase solar panels to be installed at their <br /> facilities. <br /> Commissioner Roby asked about the installation of the solar panels and Commissioner Wright <br /> asked about leases on the buildings. <br /> Commissioner Sedlak questioned whether an analysis had been made to determine the <br /> amount of savings achieved based on the life of the solar panels. He also discussed deferred <br /> maintenance. Ms. Dillman indicated that she was unaware if any analysis had been <br /> conducted. <br /> Ms. Dillman provided information about programs provided by Tri-Valley Haven which <br /> includes: <br /> Expansion of their counseling services with a new site in Pleasanton that has allowed them to <br /> provide services to over 200 Pleasanton residents. <br /> Homeless Shelter services and changes in funding being made by Alameda County and <br /> recommendations on Emergency Shelter Standards. This will include a reduction in bed-night <br /> reimbursement from $60 to $30per night. <br /> Brenda Montgomery — Pleasanton Unified School District CPR — provided information on the <br /> services they have been able to provide with the prior grant funds received the prior year. Ms. <br /> Montgomery advised that a total of seventeen (17) senior high school students and twenty-four <br /> (24) junior high school students were helped with the understanding they were eligible to apply <br /> to go to college and then with preparing college applications. <br /> Human Services Commission <br /> March 1, 2017 <br /> Page 3 <br />
