Zone 7's adage seems to be: "don't let a good crisis=water shortage go to waste." How can they in
good conscience do this to us and take pay raises?
Yes,Zone 7,which constitutes about 40 employees, 22 of whom make over$150K/year: 8 of these
employees get greater than$200K/year&4 more get$195-199K/year) gave themselves raises.Zone 7
apparently runs their business by gouging its customers following a business plan:we need more
money, not a trimming of our budget." Isn't a community suppose to 'suffer'the ups&downs of things
like the economy&weather together? Not one party gouging the other?
How can our treatment by Zone 7 be fair?We do as they ask&are basically penalized with a rate
increase for it.To re-cap: Zone 7 has recently raised rates some 35%this 2016 fiscal year. And they are
on track for yearly water rate increases, starting in January,2017 with a 19%rate increase. This is
significantly above the CPI.And Zone 7 is on track for yearly rate increases. (They are talking now about
rescinding this January 19%increase. Is it because there is so much consumer outcry and they already
got their 35%rate increase this 2016 year?
Back to their: "don't let a good crisis go to waste."
So the Pleasanton citizenry requests the Pleasanton City Council scrutinize this Zone 7 behavior AND
please inform the Pleasanton Citizens about your findings, conclusions and why.
