The locations of the alternative access
trail and the paved driveway that provides access to the Messa and Segundo properties is
shown in Figure 3.
Figure 4: Existing Easement to the Castleridge Property
4 V i - .4y
' os w
pp P371:- ( Y A 1. Restroom and Water Fountain Facilities. An approximately 12-foot-tall (excluding vent
pipes), 144-square-foot building housing two vault toilets (i.e., with no running water) will
be constructed on the Austin Property near Foothill Road. The restroom will sit on a flat
pad which will be two feet below the current grade of the gently sloping property. The
restroom will be screened from view from the neighboring residential properties and trail
by new native oak trees. The final design of the structure will be subject to City of
Pleasanton Design Review. Water fountain facilities for trail users and pets would also be
provided at this location. The restroom and water fountain facilities would be located
adjacent to a single accessible space (i.e., a space compliant with the Americans with
Disabilities Act), all of which would be accessed from a driveway approach to be
constructed on the west side of Old Foothill Road (see Figure 3). The driveway approach
would be carefully situated in between existing trees to avoid removal of any trees or other
significant vegetation. The proposed water fountain facility would be connected to the
existing City water line along Old Foothill Road.
4. City of Pleasanton Operational Requirements. EBRPD has acknowledged that the
proposed new parking spaces and trailhead would be located on City-owned property and
are subject to City control. Additional operational requirements on the facilities would be
imposed by the City including the ability to reserve the parking on Old Foothill Road for
special events at the Alviso Adobe Community Park, restricting parking on Old Foothill
Road associated with the trail to close at 8:00 pm or sundown, whichever is later, and
prohibiting of any trailer parking(including horse trailers)on Old Foothill Road.
June 9,2016 8
