3-03. Working Hours. <br /> The Contractor shall comply with all applicable provisions of Section 1810 to 1815, <br /> inclusive, of the California Labor Code relating to working hours. The Contractor <br /> shall, as a penalty of the City, forfeit $25.00 for each worker employed in the <br /> execution of the contract by the Contractor or by any Subcontractor for each calendar <br /> day during which such worker is required or permitted to work more than eight(8) <br /> hours in any one calendar day and 40 hours in any one calendar week, unless such <br /> worker receives compensation for all hours worked in excess of eight (8)hours at not <br /> less than 1-1/2 times the basic rate of pay. <br /> 3-04. Workers' Compensation: <br /> (a) In accordance with the provisions of Section 1860 of the California Labor Code, the <br /> Contractor's attention is directed to the requirement that in accordance with the <br /> provisions of Section 3700 of the California Labor Code, every contractor will be <br /> required to secure the payment of compensation of his or her employees. <br /> (b) In accordance with the provisions of Section 1861 of the California Labor Code, each <br /> Contractor to whom a public works contract is awarded shall sign and file with the <br /> awarding body the following certification prior to performing the work of the <br /> contract: "I am aware of the provisions of Section 3700 of the Labor Code which <br /> require every employer to be insured against liability for worker's compensation or to <br /> undertake self-insurance in accordance with the provisions of that code, and I will <br /> comply with such provisions before commencing the performance of the work of this <br /> contract." <br /> SECTION 4. WORK SCHEDULE <br /> 4-01. Beginning of Work: To reduce impacts to adjacent residents and disruptions to park users, <br /> before any work may begin in Hansen Park, Contractor shall have ordered, received, and <br /> inspected all twenty-two (22) light poles and related equipment. Once Contractor begins work in <br /> Hansen Park, all work shall be completed within three (3) weeks or fifteen (15)business days, <br /> whichever is longer. <br /> 4-02. Completion of Work: Subject to the fifteen (15)business days for work to be completed once <br /> work starts in Hansen Park, all work shall be completed to the satisfaction of the Park <br /> Superintendent by July 29, 2016, meaning that the last date that Contractor may begin work in <br /> Hansen Park is Friday July 11, 2016. <br /> 4-03. Hours of Work: Work shall only be performed between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday <br /> through Fridays, excepting holidays. The Parks Superintendent shall have the authority to <br /> change the hours and days of work to meet the needs of the City upon notice to Contractor. <br />
