3-03. Working Hours. The Contractor shall comply with all applicable provisions of Section 1810 to 1815, inclusive, of the California Labor Code relating to working hours. The Contractor shall, as a penalty of the City, forfeit $25.00 for each worker employed in the execution of the contract by the Contractor or by any Subcontractor for each calendar day during which such worker is required or permitted to work more than eight(8) hours in any one calendar day and 40 hours in any one calendar week, unless such worker receives compensation for all hours worked in excess of eight (8)hours at not less than 1-1/2 times the basic rate of pay. 3-04. Workers' Compensation: (a) In accordance with the provisions of Section 1860 of the California Labor Code, the Contractor's attention is directed to the requirement that in accordance with the provisions of Section 3700 of the California Labor Code, every contractor will be required to secure the payment of compensation of his or her employees. (b) In accordance with the provisions of Section 1861 of the California Labor Code, each Contractor to whom a public works contract is awarded shall sign and file with the awarding body the following certification prior to performing the work of the contract: "I am aware of the provisions of Section 3700 of the Labor Code which require every employer to be insured against liability for worker's compensation or to undertake self-insurance in accordance with the provisions of that code, and I will comply with such provisions before commencing the performance of the work of this contract." SECTION 4. WORK SCHEDULE 4-01. Beginning of Work: To reduce impacts to adjacent residents and disruptions to park users, before any work may begin in Hansen Park, Contractor shall have ordered, received, and inspected all twenty-two (22) light poles and related equipment. Once Contractor begins work in Hansen Park, all work shall be completed within three (3) weeks or fifteen (15)business days, whichever is longer. 4-02. Completion of Work: Subject to the fifteen (15)business days for work to be completed once work starts in Hansen Park, all work shall be completed to the satisfaction of the Park Superintendent by July 29, 2016, meaning that the last date that Contractor may begin work in Hansen Park is Friday July 11, 2016. 4-03. Hours of Work: Work shall only be performed between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Fridays, excepting holidays. The Parks Superintendent shall have the authority to change the hours and days of work to meet the needs of the City upon notice to Contractor.
