Pleasanton's plans for the Annual Bike to Work and School Day on Thursday, May 12, <br /> 2016. <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> The Bicycle Safety Festival on Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Amador <br /> Valley High School's main parking lot along Santa Rita Road will provide opportunities for <br /> the community to learn bicycle and pedestrian safety skills with a youth bicycle obstacle <br /> course and pedestrian safety course. <br /> Information booths will be available from the Pleasanton Police Department for Crime <br /> Prevention/DARE, Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department for Fire Prevention & Safety, <br /> City of Pleasanton staff for Bicycle & Pedestrian Master Plan input, commute information, <br /> and Bike to Work & School event information, Alameda County Transportation <br /> Commission on local transportation projects, Bike East Bay on bicycle facilities and <br /> programs, and Alameda County Safe Routes to School on school-based walking and <br /> biking programs. Other partners invited to participate include Stanford/Valley Care, Kaiser <br /> and John Muir for community education, Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority, New <br /> Leaf Community Market and local bike shops and clubs. <br /> LPFD will have a fire engine on-site for community interaction as will the Pleasanton Police <br /> Department with DARE and police vehicles.
