<br /> will be used to install new water fountains that also have separate spouts to refill water bottles. The school hopes to encourage
<br /> students and staff to use reusable water bottles instead of disposable water bottles.
<br /> Mini-Grant#: 15-05 Marilyn Avenue Elementary School,Hydration Station,Livermore,East County,$1,513.91-Funds will
<br /> be used to install a hydration station at Marylin Avenue Elementary School which will reduce the number of plastic water bottles
<br /> being purchased,eliminate plastic water bottles from being send to the landfill,encourage the consumption of water rather than sugary
<br /> drinks,promote the use of reusable water containers,and provide a safer and healthier learning environment for students,staff and
<br /> visitors to the campus.
<br /> Mini-Grant#: 15-07 Millard Elementary School,Recycle for a Healthy Planet,Fremont,West County,$1,513.91 -Funds will
<br /> be used for students to set up programs for reusing,recycling,and reducing consumption of resources at school. Students will fmd
<br /> ways to cut down on the waste they produce in the school and will also improve the way waste is managed in their community.
<br /> Mini-Grant#: 15-08 Livermore High School,Water Bottle Reduction Project,Livermore,East County,$3,000.00-Funds will
<br /> be used to install Tolki water bottle filtration stations and filter systems. The project will allow students,faculty,staff as well as
<br /> thousands of parents,athletic teams,bands,and theater patrons the opportunity to reduce the use of plastic bottles by offering a
<br /> hydration station and reusable bottle filling station.
<br /> Mini-Grant#: 15-09 Jefferson Elementary School PTA,Jefferson Elementary School 4'R Ed program and Kid's Green Team,
<br /> Berkeley,West County,$2,000.00-Funds will be used to include expansion of composting efforts,planning to coordinate school-
<br /> wide collection program to reuse plastic,to monitor classrooms and to visit classrooms to teach lessons about the 4"R's,to engage in
<br /> communication with the community at large,and to increase awareness to create greater school environmental pride.
<br /> Mini-Grant#: 15-10 City of Dublin,Food Scrap Buckets,Dublin,East County,$3,000.00-Funds will be used to purchase food
<br /> scrap buckets to support the multi-family organics program outreach,and refresh the single-family organics program.Buckets will be
<br /> distributed at the farmer's market 6 times per year,and Amador Valley Industries(AVI)will distribute the buckets to multi-family
<br /> programs that are rolling out a food waste program.

<br /> purchase worm bins and worms to be used to compost food left overs and paper towels.
<br /> Mini-Grant#: 15-12 Edna Brewer Middle School,"TAP IT!For Brewer,"Oakland,West County,$3,000.00-Funds will be
<br /> used to purchase reusable stainless steel water bottles for all 850 Edna Brewer Middle School students. The water bottles will
<br /> complement the two new water bottle filling stations that Oakland Unified School District installed in the school.
<br /> Mini-Grant#: 15-13 Edna Brewer Middle School,Edna Brewer Middle School Recycling Program,Oakland,West County,
<br /> $3,000.00-Funds will be used to purchase 10 Rubbermaid 50 gallon rolling recycling cans with wheels which can be stationed at key
<br /> points around the school—outdoors and indoors,including where the individual classroom recycling bins can be emptied. The new
<br /> recycle bins will be placed next to existing trash bins to further aid the sorting of recycling and waste at the school.

<br /> County,$3,750.00-Funds will be used for Albany Unified School District to attend the Sustainability Circles workshop to learn
<br /> things such as improving operational performance;reducing energy costs;finding new sources of innovation;reducing risk;improving
<br /> school safety;engaging employees,staff,students,and the community and building leadership.
<br /> Mini-Grant#: 15-15 Cycles of Change,Bret Harte Bike Club,Oakland,West County,$2,900.00-Funds will be used to: 1.
<br /> Teach youth ages 10-14 the principles and practices of reuse through the diversion,restoration,and maintenance of bicycles, 100%of
<br /> which are removed from the waste-stream;2.Using fleets of recycled bikes,guide youth's ages 10-21 on local and regional journeys
<br /> which connect them to the living world while promoting sustainable resource use and transportation;3.Create leadership
<br /> opportunities for youth ages 14-21 through mentoring,job-training,and paid employment in Cycles' community bike shop,The
<br /> Bikery,a social enterprise located at 23`a Ave and International Blvd,which provides reused bicycle services(repairs,parts,sales and
<br /> education workshops)for the general public at sliding scale rates.
