Using the 4R's approach,the program <br /> will teach the preschool families how to evaluate school and household waste. The 4R's will form an integral part of both preschool <br /> and parent education in order to reduce the waste output at the school and in the homes of program participants. <br /> Mini-Grant#: 15-19 Reuse Alliance California,Reuse Alliance Chapter Meetings and Reuse Race,San Francisco,West <br /> County,$2,700.00-Funds will be used for two initiatives,Reuse Alliance member meetings and The Great Race.The member <br /> meetings will bring Bay Area reuse and recycling stakeholders and leaders together to talk about common problems and to <br /> collaborate. The Great Race is an event that will bring media and public attention to the reuse resources in San Francisco and in the <br /> East Bay. <br /> Mini-Grant#: 15-20 Amador Valley High School,Dyson Airblade Installation,Pleasanton,East County,$3,000.00-Funds will <br /> be used to purchase and install 3 Dyson Airblade hand dryers. By installing the Dyson Airblades in several bathrooms,there will be <br /> several thousands of pounds of paper waste diverted from the landfill each year. <br /> Mini-Grant#: 15-21 Community Action for a Sustainable Alameda(CASA),Equipment for Expanding Food Scrap Outreach, <br /> Alameda,West County,$2,940.07-Funds will be used to expand and supplement outreach and technical assistance with the <br /> program,Miss Alameda Says,Compost! (MASC).Funds will also be used to purchase internal recycling and compost containers, <br /> posters and stickers. <br /> Mini-Grant#: 15-22 Community Action for a Sustainable Alameda(CASA),Miss Alameda Says,Compost! Stipend for Miss <br /> Alameda,Alameda,West County,$2,975.00-Funds will be used to extend the Miss Alameda Says,Compost! Program for another <br /> year and help in expanding outreach to private schools,pre-schools,faith organizations and small businesses. <br /> Mini-Grant#: 15-23 Leconte Elementary School,Leconte Waste Reduction,Berkeley,West County,$2,753.00-Funds will be <br /> used to purchase recycling and composting bins,student prizes and incentives,reusable party kits and clearstream frames with <br /> compost lids and small trashcans. <br /> Mini-Grant#: 15-24 Northern California Recycling Association,Multi-family Organics Equipment,Berkeley,West County, <br /> $3,000.00-Funds will be used to purchase compost pails and compostable bags for multi-family organics diversion in Oakland. <br /> Mini-Grant#: 15-25 The Replicable Green Gloves of Alameda County Wide,The Waste Sorting Bin Support,Oakland,West <br /> County,$3,000.00-Funds will be used to purchase color-coded waste sorting bins of various shapes and sizes to reach out to schools <br /> and school districts to implement elements of waste reduction and sorting programs. <br /> Mini-Grant#: 15-26 The Replica Green Gloves of Alameda County Wide,The Waste Sorting Materials Support,Oakland, <br /> West County,$3,000.00-Funds will be used to purchase materials and supplies such as signage,dollies and carts,clear liners, <br /> printing and miscellaneous,used in conjunction with waste sorting bins to reach out to schools and school districts to implement <br /> elements of waste reduction and sorting programs. <br /> Mini-Grant#: 15-27 The East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse,Green Educator Program Support,Oakland,West County, <br /> $2,993.00-Funds will be used to meet the needs and educate local teachers within Alameda County as well as provide free materials <br /> for teachers to use in their classrooms,along with lesson plans,and information about reuse. <br />
