RESOLUTION NO. 16-829 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON AMENDING <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 08-234 TO EXTEND THE TERM OF THE COMMITTEE ON ENERGY <br /> AND THE ENVIRONMENT UNTIL APRIL 30, 2017 <br /> WHEREAS, in July, 2008, the City Council established the Committee on Energy and <br /> the Environment for an initial term of two years to advise it on energy and environmental issues, <br /> strategies, planning and protections and opportunities for conservation; and <br /> WHEREAS, in April, 2013, the City Council extended the Committee on Energy and the <br /> Environment term an additional two years to advise it on energy and environmental issues, <br /> strategies, planning and protections and opportunities for conservation; and <br /> WHEREAS, the duties of the Committee include supporting the intent of the City's <br /> General Plan environmental goals, developing measurable energy strategies related to <br /> preservation, prudent use of natural resources, and other energy and water related matters; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Committee has projects under way as part of the City Council Priorities <br /> that will run through the next twelve (12) month period; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Committee's term is ending and an additional twelve (12) month <br /> extension is required to address activities now in progress; and <br /> WHEREAS, prior to this date, the City Council may reassess the Committee's agenda <br /> and consider limiting or extending the term as appropriate. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. Extend the term of the Committee on Energy and the Environment and its <br /> members for an additional year until April 30, 2017. <br /> SECTION 2. That the Committee on Energy and the Environment hold its regular <br /> meetings every other month during this term. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br /> a regular meeting held on February 16, 2016. <br /> I, Karen Diaz, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br /> resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 16th day of February <br /> 2016, by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Brown, Narum, Olson, Pentin, Mayor Thorne <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: None <br /> Abstain: None <br /> Kare Diaz, City Clerk <br /> APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> lie Harryman, Interim City Attorney <br />
