BACKGROUND
For several years the City of Pleasanton has used an as needed pavement striping and
signage services contract to complete some of the pavement marking and signage work
within the City. Womack Striping was the previous pavement striping and signage
services contract provider (from July 2012 through June 2015).
DISCUSSION
The City issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to provide as needed pavement striping
and signage services. The City received three proposals from the following contractors:
Womack Striping, Inc., Chrisp Company, and D & M Traffic Services, Inc.
As outlined in the RFP, the proposer with the lowest responsive and responsible proposal
will be awarded this as needed pavement striping and signage agreement. The RFP
required contractors to provide pricing for common work requests and to provide quotes
for three sample jobs. Womack Striping, Inc. was the lowest responsive and responsible
proposer (see Attachment 1 for price comparisons, lowest prices are shaded). Womack
Striping has served as our as needed pavement striping and signage contractor the past
three years, and has consistently met our expectations for both quality of work and quick
completion times.
The term of the proposed contract is for two years, expiring on June 30, 2017, with the
option of extending the contract for two additional one-year terms, upon agreement of the
City and the contractor.
Submitted by: Fisca eview: Approve by:
Gerry Beaudin ina Olson Nelson Fialho
Director of Director of Finance City Manager
Community Development
Attachments:
1.
