Where the Chief Building Inspector or his duly appointed representative finds the installation to be in conformity with the provisions of this chapter he shall authorize the use of the installation and connection to the electrical utility furnishing the electric service. If upon inspection the installation is not found to be fully in conformity with the provisions of this chapter the Chief Building Inspector or his duly ap- pointed representative shall at once notify the person, firm or corporation making the installation, stating the defects which have been found to exist. All defects shall be corrected within ten (10) days after inspection and notifica- tion, or within other reasonable time as permitted by the Chief Building Inspector or his duly appointed representative. Preliminary approval may be issued auth- orizing the connection and use of certain specific portions of an incompleted installa- tion; such certificate shall be revocable at the discretion of the Chief Building Inspector or his duly appointed representative. When any part of a wiring installation is to be hidden from view by the permanent placement of parts of the building, the person firm or corporation installing the wiring shall notify the Chief Building Inspector or his duly appointed representative and such parts of the wiring installation shall not be concealed until they have been inspected and approved by the Chief Building Inspector or his duly appointed representative, provided that on large installations where the conceal- ment of parts of the wiring proceeds contin- uously, the person, firm or corporation in- stalling the wiring shall give the Chief Building Inspector or his duly appointed re-l- presentative due notice, and inspections shall be made periodically during the progress of
