This chapter shall exempt from licensing <br /> any work that qualifies for the exemptions <br /> provided in Sections 7040, 7042, 7043, 7045, <br /> 7047, 7051, 7052 and 7053, Article 3, Chapter <br /> 9 of Division 3 of the Business and Profession~. <br /> Code of the State of California. <br /> Any permit required by this chapter may <br /> be issued to any person to do any work regu- <br /> lated by this chapter in a single family <br /> dwelling used exclusively for living purposes, <br /> including the usual accessory buildings and <br /> quarters in connection with such buildings in <br /> the event that the same are occupied by or <br /> designed to be occupied by said owner; pro- <br /> vided that said owner shall perform, oversee <br /> or supervise all work in connection therewith. <br />c. Application for Permit. Every application <br /> for a permit shall be made on forms furnished <br /> by the Chief Building Inspector, or his duly <br /> appointed representative. Every application <br /> shall provide for the address, the use occu- <br /> pancy or purpose of the building, or premises <br /> where the proposed work is to be done, the <br /> owner's name, the electrical contractor's name <br /> and address, a complete description of the <br /> proposed work and such other additional in- <br /> formation as the Chief Building Inspector, <br /> or his duly appointed representative, may <br /> consider necessary. If it appears, upon ex- <br /> amination and investigation by the Chief <br /> Building Inspector, or his duly appointed <br /> representative, that the proposed work will <br /> conform to the provision of this chapter, a <br /> permit shall then be issued to the applicant, <br /> upon payment of the fees provided for. <br />d. Maintenance Electricians. In lieu of an <br /> individual permit for each installation or <br /> alteration, an annual permit may, upon appli- <br /> cation therefor, be issued to any person, <br /> firm, or corporation regularly employing one <br /> or more electricians for the installation and <br /> maintenance of electric wiring, devices, ap- <br /> pliances, and equipment upon premises owned <br /> or occupied by the applicant for the permit. <br /> The application shall be made on forms fur- <br /> nished by the Chief Building Inspector, or <br /> his duly appointed representative. Within <br /> not more than fifteen (15) days following the <br /> end of each calendar month, thyperson, firm, <br /> or corporation to which an annual permit is <br /> issued shall transmit to the Chief Building <br /> Inspector, or his duly appointed representa- <br /> tive, report of all the electrical work done <br /> under the annual permit during the preceding <br /> month. Each annual permit shall expire on <br /> December 31 of the year in which it is issued <br />e. Validity of Permit. The issuance of granting <br /> of a permit or approval of plans and specifi- <br /> cations shall not be construed to be a permit <br /> for, or an approval of, any violation of any <br /> of the provisions of this chapter.
