SUMMARY OF PROPOSED ACTIONS • In order to carry out the intent and purpose of the California Community Redevelopment Law and the Pleasanton redevelopment objectives broadly defined above , generally the procedures will be as follows : 1 . Acquisition of real property by purchase, gift , device or by exercise of the power of eminent domain, where necessary . • 2 . Removal , rehabilitation , alteration, modernization , general improvements or any combination thereof, of existing structures in the Project Area where such are needed, permitted or required under the Redevelop- ment Plan. 3. Dedication of certain areas for public street purposes . 4 . Construction of needed City facilities , improvement of public streets , parking areas and pedestrian ways by means of paving , lighting, landscaping and other improvements . 5 . The achievement of a physical environment reflecting the high level of concern for architectural and urban design principles deemed important by the citizens of the City of Pleasanton. SECTION IV. GENERAL STATEN-ENT OF LAND USES , PRINCIPAL STREETS , AND BUILDIIG STANDARDS A. Land Uses 1 . Commercial (C) Districts : The permitted uses shall be retail and wholesale sales ; office uses ; such service enterprises as banks , personal service shops , hotels , motels and meeting facilities , amusement or recreation establishments , restaurants and other places serving food and beverages ; and off-street parking and loading areas . -5-
