Commissioner Inman confirmed that the Camp would be open to all students, and information <br /> about camp costs was provided to Commissioner Lo. <br /> At 8:05 p.m. Chairperson Sinha opened the meeting for presentations from other <br /> agencies. <br /> Child Care Links—Youth Education and Services — updates and information on services <br /> provided by Child Care Links was provided. The Commission was advised that funding is <br /> being requested for a Youth Education and Services program that specializes in providing <br /> services and workshops for children, families, and child care providers. <br /> Commissioner Lo how Child Care Links would identify the 100 Pleasanton residents it plans <br /> to serve if grant funds are recommended. <br /> Chairperson Sinha asked about the purchase six (6) of child restrains/boosters and how <br /> many had been purchased in the past. <br /> Commissioner Chew discussed the training and technical assistance program and questioned <br /> how it was provided. Commissioner Inman asked about the location of the classes offered by <br /> Child Care Links. <br /> Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center—Arts in the Schools with Cheza Nami Foundation, <br /> Denise Bridges - Ms. Bridges provided details about the program and the hopes to be able to <br /> provide the program to six (6) in-school cultural performing arts assemblies that will feature <br /> African music and dance by the Cheza Nami Foundation. <br /> Chairperson Sinha confirmed that this would be the second year for this program and <br /> Commissioner Chew asked about the grant that had been requested from the Civic Arts <br /> Commission. Commissioners were advised that approximately 80% of the amount requested <br /> from the Civic Arts Commission had been recommended. Commissioner Lo commented that <br /> 80% funding would allow for providing the program to of six schools that Livermore Valley <br /> Performing Arts Center hoped would participate in the assemblies. <br /> TN-Valley YMCA—Anti-Bullying Initiative / Integrating STEM Activities Into Youth <br /> Programming / Providing Opportunities for Kids with Special Needs, Kenny Altenburg— <br /> thanked the Commission for their past support of YMCA programs. He provided information <br /> on each of the funding requests and the services that will be provided. <br /> Chairperson Sinha questioned whether the Anti-Bullying Initiative would be implemented in all <br /> of the YMCA programs. Mr. Altenburg advised that funding for this program would allow for <br /> hiring a professional to work with YMCA staff. <br /> Commissioner Lo asked about the opportunities to be provided for kids with Special needs <br /> and how the Anti-Bullying program would be implemented.
