from Pleasanton for the Meals on Wheels program that Spectrum will not be able to provide <br /> service to Pleasanton residents. <br /> Ms. Finkelstein provided Chairperson Wright with information on the number of people who <br /> could be served if funding was allocated based on the staff recommendation. Chairperson <br /> Wright also asked about the number of Pleasanton volunteers who work with Spectrum. <br /> Commissioners Clare and Roby discussed the Alameda County cut in funding and the growing <br /> need for service in other areas. Ms. Finkelstein advised that funding cuts would affect the <br /> service Spectrum provides to all areas. <br /> Chairperson Wright closed the meeting for agency presentations at 7:08 p.m. <br /> Commissioners reviewed with Mr. Erickson Attachment 1 of the agenda report and the funding <br /> allocations being recommended by staff in the report. They discussed how best to consider <br /> funding requests and the recommendations that Commissioners had made through <br /> ZoomGrants. <br /> Commissioner Hayes thanked staff for providing the Commission with such an informative <br /> agenda report and funding recommendations. <br /> Commissioner Roby had questions regarding the Open Heart Kitchen and Tri-Valley Haven <br /> applications. He suggested the Commission consider reducing funding to one or two of the <br /> Haven's requests and allocating funds elsewhere. <br /> Mr. Erickson suggested the Commission consider and make a separate motion for the funding <br /> request from Axis Community Health for capital funds for the construction of the new clinic. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Roby, seconded by Commissioner Clare, <br /> recommending approval of the $100,000 funding request from Axis Community Health Care for <br /> Construction of New Clinic to Serve Low-Income Residents from Housing and Human Services <br /> Grant (HHSG) Funds for Fiscal Year 2015/16. <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE: <br /> AYES: Commissioners Clare, Hayes, Roby, Rowland, and Chairperson Wright. <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> Chairperson Wright discussed the Commission's funding criteria and whether agency <br /> applications had met these criteria. Commissioner Roby felt that the Needs Assessment and <br /> Criteria had helped steer the non-profits in terms of the funding requests. <br /> Commissioner Hayes commented on the community impact if people are unable to receive <br /> needed services because funding is not provided for specific programs.
