The Commission was advised that Hope Hospice is seeking funding to pay salaries for their <br /> Grief Support Center staff so they can continue to provide services. <br /> Commissioner Clare confirmed that Hope Hospice is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. <br /> Kelly Dulka, Kenny Altenburg and Susan Mancino, YMCA / Behavioral Health Care Services <br /> for Kids / Community Outreach to Those in Need — discussed the need to provide mental <br /> health services in the Tri-Valley area and provided information about services YMCA provides. <br /> The Commission was informed that funding of this application would allow YMCA to pay staff <br /> salaries related to this program which addresses one of the priorities identified by the <br /> Commission to provide mental health services for youth. <br /> Commissioner Roby was advised by Ms. Dulka that the program would serve youth ages three <br /> to eighteen as well as their families. <br /> Mr. Altenburg provided information about the YMCA Community Outreach program and the <br /> services they have been able to provide to those in need in the Tri-Valley area. He advised <br /> that funding for this program is always well spent and he hoped the City of Pleasanton would <br /> continue to support the program. Ms. Dulka provided information about families and children <br /> in need in Pleasanton that the YMCA has been able to support through the program. <br /> James Treggiari, Legal Assistance for Seniors / Legal Services for Pleasanton Seniors — <br /> introduced himself as the new Executive Director of Legal Assistance for Seniors and provided <br /> information about services provided by Legal Assistance to Pleasanton seniors. He thanked <br /> the Commission for past support provided by the City of for this important service for seniors. <br /> Vicky Thompson, Tri-Valley Haven / Counseling and Temporary Restraining Clinic / Shiloh <br /> Domestic Violence Shelter and Services / Soiourner House Homeless Shelter Program / Tri- <br /> Valley Haven Food Pantry — provided information about each of their funding requests and the <br /> services provided. She discussed the hours of operation for the Food Pantry and the mobile <br /> pantry visits to Pleasanton, legal and counseling services at their Pleasanton location, and <br /> details about the Shiloh Domestic Violence Shelter and Sojourner House Homeless Shelter <br /> Programs and services. <br /> Chairperson Wright discussed with Ms. Thompson federal funding received for the Counseling <br /> and Temporary Restraining Order Clinic. <br /> Samantha Finkelstein, Spectrum Community Services / Meals on Wheels for Homebound <br /> Elderly — thanked the Commission for past funding and advised that Spectrum had just <br /> received notification from Alameda County that they will no longer be receiving funding for this <br /> service from the County. The lack of County funding will affect the level of service that <br /> Spectrum will be able to provide to homebound Pleasanton seniors through the Meals on <br /> Wheels program. Commissioners were advised by Ms. Finkelstein that Spectrum served over <br /> 4,000 meals to Pleasanton residents in 2014. She also noted that the amount of funding <br /> received from Pleasanton for the meals was considerably less than what had been received <br /> from the cities of Dublin and Livermore.
