BACKGROUND
When Pleasanton Police Department vehicles reach the end of their service life they are
surplused. These vehicles are typically five years old and are no longer financially
feasible to maintain. Revenue realized from recent vehicle surpluses was less than
$1,300 per vehicle. After towing/transportation costs the net revenue can drop to
around $500 to $700 per vehicle.
This donation request supports the community partnership between the Pleasanton
Police Department and Las Positas Community College. This will directly benefit the
Administration of Justice Degree Program, which is centered entirely on preparing
students for job entry with a California law enforcement agency.
Submitted by: Fiscal Review: Approved by:
Da d C. S II Emily Wagner Nelson Fialho
Police Chie Director of Finance City Manager
Attachments:
1. Resolution
II
Page2of2
