THE CITY OF <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> PL E ASANTON. <br /> November 18, 2014 <br /> Police <br /> TITLE: CONSIDER A RESOLUTION DECLARING AS SURPLUS ONE POLICE <br /> SEDAN, AND AUTHORIZE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE <br /> AGREEMENT DONATING THIS POLICE SEDAN TO LAS POSITAS <br /> COLLEGE <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The attached resolution itemizes the police sedan proposed for surplus, including <br /> description and vehicle identification number (VIN). This vehicle would be donated to <br /> Las Positas Community College. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Declare as surplus the Pleasanton Police Department police sedan VIN <br /> 2FAHP71V19X115485 as it has passed its useful and cost effective service life and has <br /> been replaced. <br /> Authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement, in a form approved by the City <br /> Attorney that provides for the transfer of this police sedan to Las Positas Community <br /> College. <br /> Find that such transfer would directly benefit the Administration of Justice Program at <br /> the College; several core courses including the Introductory Course, Patrol Procedures, <br /> Criminal Investigation, and Traffic Investigation are enhanced by practical, hands-on <br /> elements. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMET <br /> The transfer, transportation and other logistics of this donation will have no cost to the <br /> City of Pleasanton. <br />
