Jenny Soo
From: Paul Wellnitz
Sent Tuesday, September 02, 2014 9:35 AM
To: Jenny Soo
Subject: Pleasanton Meadows Valero (Mike Roseberry Property) 7-11 Zoning change @ W. Las
Positas/Santa Rita
Hello Jenny,
Good morning. I am contacting you about the proposed project at Pleasanton Meadows Valero (Mike
Roseberry Property) 7-11 Zoning change © W. Las Positas/Santa Rita.
I live across the street from the Valero station and until recently was not aware that a project was being
considered for this area. No one had come by my house asking questions or commenting on the project
until about two weeks ago. Since then I have read the planning commission staff report. I see from all the
emails already sent in over a year ago that most if not all people in the community are opposed to this
idea.
I strongly oppose the idea of a 24 hour 7-Eleven going into that location and along with it a car wash.
- The noise level of a car wash would disturb the area with its fans, motors, ...
- The increased level of traffic going into and out of that corner would be disruptive to an already
congested corner with the firehouse, hospital, gas station and town homes. Plus, it is the only way to get
into the large residential neighborhood behind it.
- It would also bring a different type of person to the area with a 24 hour store (that sells alcohol). You
can see it at the other two 7-Eleven stores in Pleasanton.
- There is a large flow of kids less than a block from that location with the elementary school and their
safety would be at larger risk from the increased car traffic and also the people that tend to shop at 24
hour stores.
- Why would a new store be given 24 hour operation when the community expressed itself clearly by not
wanting the Walmart store to be open 24 hours.
- Increase crime to the area.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Paul Wellnitz
Click here to report this email as spam.
1
