Jenn Soo
From: Pamela Gonzales
Sent: Saturday, August 23, 2014 4:27 PM
To: Jenny Soo;jsoo @ctyofpleasantonca.gov
Subject: PUD-102/P14-0014 MD Roesbery, Inc
I am writing again to express concerns about having a convenience store that is open all night. The current
Valero station is NOT open 24/7. It closes at a reasonable hour. There was great concern from the Planning
Commission and City Council when Wal-Mart was trying to get approval. It would seem that the Planning
Commission and City Council should have and express those same concerns now.
Please note that on page 7 of your report, it is indicated that the fire station takes up the entire side of W Las
Positas Blvd to Fairlands Drive. That is not reality-- half of that is homes. If there is expected to be
increased traffic from the proposed car wash/convenience store, I am concerned about the vehicles exiting
onto W. Las Positas versus Santa Rita Road. The only allowable way to turn when exiting W Las Positas from
the Valero Station is right which is directly into the Pleasanton Meadows housing tract. Customers would
have to make a U-turn at W Las Positas and Fairlands Drive or continue further into the housing tract possibly
making a U-turn in front of Fairlands Elementary School.
The other two 24 hour convenience stores are not located this close to residential housing and an elementary
school. Please reconsider approving a 24 hour operation. Why does it need to be open past 11 p.m.?
Also, on a different subject: The yellow postcard that we received has a possible error in your email
address. It reads jsoo @ctvofpleasantonca.gov. Is that correct? I have sent this email to the listed address as
well as jsooPcitvofpleasantonca.gov (difference being that "city" is spelled out in my corrected
version. Please let me know which one is correct. If your listed email address is incorrect that could have a
possible impact on the number of responses that you received.
Sincerely,
Pam Gonzales, 4194 W Las Positas Blvd., Pleasanton, CA
Click here to report this email as spam.
1
