Section 4. Article I (Adoption of Uniform Housing Code), Chapter 10A, <br /> Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton is hereby <br /> amended in its entirety to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Article 1 <br /> <br /> Adoption of Uniform Housing Code <br /> <br /> S2-16.32 Adoption of the 1979 Edition of the Uniform Housing Code. <br /> There is hereby adopted by reference by the City of Pleasanton <br /> the Uniform Housing Code of 1979, except such portions as are <br /> hereinafter amended, modified or deleted and the same is hereby <br /> adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length here- <br /> in. Said Uniform Housing Code is the UNIFORM HOUSING CODE, <br /> 1979 Edition, prepared by the International Conference of <br /> Building Officials. Three (3) certified copies of which are <br /> on file with the City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton for use <br /> by the public. <br /> <br />Section 5. Chapter I (Fire Regulations), of Title IV (Health, Safety, <br /> Moral, and General Welfare), of the Ordinance Code of the City of <br /> Pleasanton is hereby amended in its entirety to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Chapter 1. Fire Regulations <br /> <br /> ~4-1.00 Adoption of Uniform Fire Code. There is hereby adopted <br /> by reference by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton <br /> for the purpose of prescribing regulations governing conditions <br /> hazardous to life and property from fire or explosion, that <br /> certain Code known as the UNIFORM FIRE CODE recommended by <br /> the Western Fire Chiefs Association and the International <br /> Conference of Building Officials being particularly the 1979 <br /> Edition thereof and the whole thereof, of which Code not <br /> less than three (3) certified copies have been and are now <br /> filed in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton <br /> and the same are hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as <br /> if set out at length herein. <br /> <br /> ~4-1.01 Establishment and Duties of Bureau of Fire Prevention. <br /> <br /> a. The Uniform Fire Code shall be enforced by the Fire <br /> Department of the City of Pleasanton under the <br /> supervision of the Chief of the Fire Department. <br /> <br /> b. The Chief of the Fire Department may detail such <br /> members of the Fire Department as inspectors as <br /> shall from time to time be necessary. The Chief of <br /> the Fire Department shall recommend to the City Manager <br /> the employment of technical inspectors, who, when such <br /> authorization is made, shall be selected through an <br /> examination to determine their fitness for the position. <br /> <br /> III <br /> <br /> <br />
