(h) Where a building sewer is already installed <br /> and the building served thereby is so situated <br /> that the lowest drain opening in the building <br /> is less than two (2) feet above the rim of the <br /> nearest upstream manhole, a backflow protection <br /> device consisting of either an atmospheric <br /> relief valve or backwater valve installation, <br /> as approved by the Building Inspector, shall <br /> be installed. <br /> <br /> (i) Subsections (g) and (h) may be waived when, in <br /> the opinion of the Building Inspector, such <br /> installation is unnecessary for the protection <br /> health and safety requirements of this Chapter. <br /> <br /> 2. Subsection (d) is hereby added to Section 1310 to <br /> read as follows: <br /> (d) All water heaters shall be securely anchored <br /> to the floor or wall in a manner acceptable to <br /> the Adminstrative Authority to resist seismic <br /> forces. <br /> <br />Section 3. Article 1 (Adoption of the Uniform Mechanical Code), Chapter <br /> 7 (Mechanical Code) Title II (Zoning and Development) of the Ordin- <br /> ance Code of the City of Pleasanton is hereby amended in its entirety <br /> to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Article 1 <br /> <br /> Adoption of Uniform Mechanical Code, <br /> With Additions, Modifications and <br /> Deletions <br /> <br /> S2-14.28 Adoption of Uniform Mechanical Code. There is hereby <br /> adopted by reference that certain code known as the UNIFORM <br /> MECHANICAL CODE, 1979 Edition, published by the International <br /> Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, except as <br /> amended, modified, or deleted in this article. Three (3) <br /> copies of this code are on file with the City Clerk of the <br /> City of Pleasanton for use by the public. <br /> <br /> a. Amendments or Modifications. <br /> <br /> 1. Section 304 (Permit Fees) of the Uniform Mechanical <br /> Code is amended by deleting the "Schedule of Fees" <br /> on Page 7 and by modifying Section 304 to read as <br /> follows: <br /> Such applicant shall pay for each permit at the time <br /> of issuance a fee in the amount established in the <br /> Resolution Establishing Fees and Charges for Various <br /> Municipal Services. <br /> <br />/// <br /> <br /> 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
