Section 2. Article 1 (Adoption of Uniform Plumbing Code with Deletions and Modifications) Chapter 5 (Plumbing Code), Title II (Zoning and Development) of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton is hereby amended in its entirety as follows: Article 1 Adoption of Uniform Plumbing Code With Deletions and Modifications ~2-13.27 Adoption of Uniform Plumbing Code. There is hereby adopted by reference that certain code known as the Uniform Plumbing Code, more particularly described below except such portions are hereinafter amended, modified or deleted, and the same is hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein. Said Uniform Plumbing Code is the UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1979 Edition, published by the International Association of Plumb- ing and Mechanical Officials. Three (3) copies of this Uni- form Code are on file in the office of the City Clerk for use by the public. ~2-13.28 Amendments, Modifications, Additions to and Deletions from the Adopted Code. The Adopted Code is hereby changed as follows: a. Amendments or Modifications. 1. Whenever in the Adopted Code the words "Adminis- trative Authority" or "Assistant" are used, they shall mean the Director of Planning and Community Development of the City of Pleasanton or his agent. 2. Section 20.7 - Cost of Permit. A fee for each plumbing permit shall be paid to the City prior to issuance of the permit. Such fee shall not relieve any persons from fully complying with the requirements of this Code in the execution of the work nor from any other penalties prescribed by ordinance. b. Additions. 1. Subsections g, h, and i are hereby added to Section 1101 to read as follows: (g) Every building sewer installed shall have a backflow protection device installed in the sewer lateral serving that individual build- ing. The backflow protection device may consist of either an atmospheric valve or backwater valve installation as approved by the Building Inspector.
