City of Pleasanton Phase 1A Recycled Water Distribution System Design Final Draft If the trenchless alternative is selected by the City, the Consultant shall perform additional geotechnical and design analyses to develop a trenchless crossing design for the 16" recycled water pipeline beneath the Arroyo Mocho at Hacienda Drive. Consultant shall prepare additional contract specifications and drawings necessary for the selected trenchless method. Consultant's surveying subconsultant shall perform supplemental ground topographic surveys along the trenchless alignment corridor not within existing City road right-of-way. Supplemental data will be integrated into the base mapping files. Consultant's surveying subconsultant shall prepare proposed permanent and temporary construction easement plats and legal descriptions for up to two proposed easements, which may be required for the Arroyo Mocho crossing at Hacienda Drive. Consultant's geotechnical engineering sub consultant shall conduct a geotechnical investigation for a trenchless crossing of Arroyo Mocho,including: • Obtaining drilling permits necessary for the geotechnical boring from Zone 7 and any other applicable agencies. • Providing required traffic control during the field investigations • Performing field investigations and performing up to 2 borings at up to 30 feet deep on each side of the anticipated trenchless crossing of the Arroyo Mocho at Hacienda Dr. • Preparing samples from the borings and conducting laboratory testing on soil samples to determine engineering properties, specifically related to shaft construction and the tunneling method. • Sharing soil samples from each boring for corrosivity laboratory analyses by Consultant's corrosion engineering subconsultant • Preparing geologic plan and profile sketches of trenchless alignment beneath the Arroyo Mocho,to be included in the Design Report • Preparing selected trenchless methodology site layout to demonstrate adequate staging areas are available for the construction operation,to be included in the Design Report • Preparing preliminary construction cost estimate for the trenchless crossing, to be included in the Design Report • Preparing pipe stress and hydrofracture analysis for the proposed trenchless crossing, to be included in the Design Report • Prepare 50%, 95% and final plan, profile and detail drawings for proposed trenchless crossing,to be included in the appropriate deliverable described under Task 5 • Trenchless crossing design criteria. Task 9B Assumptions: • Up to two draft and final plat and legal descriptions for one permanent and one temporary construction easement for the crossing of the Arroyo Mocho(.pdf file and one hardcopy) • The scope and fee are based on the horizontal directional drilling (HDD) method of trenchless construction. • The fee shown for this optional task in Exhibit B represents the net change in fee and includes reductions in level of effort from the base scope of services. The trenchless alternative is shorter, resulting in fewer drawings and eliminates the Arroyo Mocho bridge crossing assessment and design at Hopyard Road Scope of Work Revs Page 16 of 17 August 20,2014
