City of Pleasanton
Phase IA Recycled Water Distribution System Design Final Draft
5.3.7 Technical specifications outline using City's Standard Specifications format (Special Provisions
to the Caltrans Standard Specifications, 2015 edition). Where necessary, the Special Provisions would be
supplemented with Consultant's guide technical specifications prepared in CSI 16 division format.
5.3.8 Preliminary list of drawings, including list of applicable reference City Standard Details.
5.3.9 Proposed bid packages () and bid schedules for Project components to maximize the ability to
achieve the June 21, 2015 recycled water delivery date to the Sports Park. This scope of work assumes
up to two(2)bid packages will be developed by Consultant.
5.3.10 Construction cost estimate prepared by the City for the Feasibility Study will be reviewed and
updated by Consultant based on project development work to date. The estimate would be a Class 4
estimate as defined by AACE,International(Publication 18R-97).
Consultant shall prepare a draft Design Study report summarizing and presenting the preliminary design
concepts, design criteria and basis for design of project facilities.
Consultant shall prepare for and conduct a Design Study review workshop with the City to review the
preliminary design concepts and criteria, resolve outstanding technical issues and address City comments
on the draft Design Study.
Consult shall finalize the Design Study incorporating City review comments and responses.
Subtask 5.3 Assumptions:
• City will select route alternative crossing of the Arroyo Mocho under Task 5.2 reasonably prior to
submittal of draft Design Report.
• Task 5.3 scope of work is based upon the only bridge crossing being the Hopyard Road bridge
crossing of the Arroyo Mocho. Should the City select the trenchless alignment alternative for
crossing the Arroyo Mocho, Optional Services Task 9B would be authorized and the Hopyard
Road bridge crossing would not be required.
• Bridge stability assessment and analysis, if required, will be based solely on information provided
by City, including structural design drawings and documentation and prior bridge assessment
reports.
• City, through its system controls and SCADA integrator, TESCO, is responsible for the planning,
design and implementation of all control systems and communications. Consultant is responsible
for developing control strategy concept narrative and design of field instrumentation and wiring
back to a terminal block. All elements beyond the terminal block are the responsibility of the
City.
• Design Report will represent a "freeze" in design concepts that will be used as the basis for
development of the project bid documents. Any reconsideration of design report criteria and
concepts could impact ultimate project schedule and meeting the June 21, 2015 target for
recycled water deliveries to the Sports Park.
Subtask 5.3 Deliverables
• Six(6) copies and one .pdf file via email of the Design Report for City review.
