The cost reflected for this task assumes AECOM assistance to the City for support of the
consultation within the ESA timeframe (i.e., 180 days)and is based on what can be anticipated at
this time The cost assumed to complete this task is based on current project knowledge and is
reflected in the cost estimate. Similar to the statement above under Permitting Task 1,
completion of the task is directly dependent on the participation and direction of regulatory
agency staff, which is beyond the control of AECOM. AECOM will work up to the amount of
budget set aside to pursue this approval. If the consultation process becomes more lengthy or
complicated than anticipated, additional effort may be required and could be provided as an
amendment to this scope of work.
Task Cost: $19,904
Task 4.Prepare Cultural Resources Technical Reports for compliance with the National
Historic Preservation Act and CEQA
The proposed project is located in an area of Downtown Pleasanton previously used as.a railroad
alignment and siding area near the former railroad depot. Following the discontinuation of the
Southern Pacific Railroad at the site, the areas were converted to the regional urban parks: Lions
Wayside Park and Delucchi Park. Based on previous similar project work and current project
understanding,AECOM believes the following cultural resources tasks will be required for
compliance with the Section 106 of the NHPA, as amended, and its implementing regulations
(36 CFR 800);Section.21083.2 of CEQA; and Section 15064.5 of the State CEQA Guidelines.
AECOM will use any previous compliance work and property information pertaining to the
proposed project areas that may be available from the City and will include(as appropriate)the
following subtasks.
Prepare Draft and Final Area of Potential Effects Map
AECOM staff will prepare an appropriate Area of Potential Effects(APE)map for the project
area, based on information provided by the City. It is assumed that the APE will generally
include the areas of Lions Wayside Park and Delucchi Park. The APE will include all areas of
proposed construction and staging areas. AECOM will submit the APE map to USACE for
review. The map will be finalized before fieldwork begins.
Records Search/Research
AECOM will conduct a cultural resources records search from the Northwest Information Center
in Rohnert Park. The purpose of the records search is to identify any previously recorded
cultural resources in and near the project area, to determine if any portions of the project area
have already been inspected for the presence of cultural resources, and to gather background
information useful in the analysis of potential impacts on cultural resources that could result
from implementation of the proposed project. This scope of work assumes that the records search
will not identify any cultural resources in the project area. Research will be conducted to
understand the general history of the proposed project area and will be used for completion of the
technical report and environmental document.
9IPage
