Mayor Hosterman stated that she does not want to redesign the plan tonight; she is <br /> uncomfortable about specific changes. She would like more of an idea from the Council if there <br /> was support for the plans and language as presented in order to go to the voters. <br /> Mr. Sullivan suggested that they go directly to straw votes. <br /> Ms. McGovern stated she was fine with the language as written; she doesn't want to <br /> take any space away from the Meadow. She said there are many people who support open <br /> space on this property. <br /> Mr. Brozosky asked if the question was to include tennis courts in the illustrative plan. <br /> He was not in favor of doing this. <br /> Ms McGovern did not support changing the illustrative plan at this time. <br /> Mr. Sullivan was in support and he clarified that the courts would not be placed in the <br /> Meadow. <br /> Mr. Thorne did support the tennis courts, but did not support placing it in the illustrative <br /> plan at this time. <br /> Mayor Hosterman concurred. <br /> Mayor Hosterman asked the Council to comment on the commission's suggestion to <br /> have an indoor swimming pool. <br /> The Council unanimously did not support the indoor swimming pool. <br /> Mr. Brozosky asked if in the future a center, such as a YMCA, wanted to include an <br /> indoor swimming pool, is there anything preventing that from occurring. <br /> Mr. Fialho responded that there was no restriction. <br /> Mayor Hosterman asked the Council to consider adding a dog park to the illustrative <br /> plan. <br /> The Council unanimously supported no change to the illustrative plan. <br /> Mayor Hosterman asked the Council to consider equestrian trails. <br /> Ms. McGovern asked if there are there any other areas available for this use. <br /> Mr. Rasmussen noted that general consensus has been for this to be west of the <br /> freeway, in conjunction with other trails. <br /> Mr. McGovern asked if this trail would eventually meet up with regional trails? <br /> Mr. Rasmussen noted that his belief was that the trails would connect. <br /> Pleasanton City Council 11 05/16/06 <br /> Minutes <br />
