Mr. Huy A. Ho, P.E.
The City of Pleasanton
August 13, 2013
Page 7
• Monthly progress summary reports.
• Meeting agenda, action items, presentation materials, and meeting
minutes.
2.0 Utility Coordination and Field Investigation
This task is unchanged from the scope submitted April 10, 2012.
2.1 Utility Coordination: Carollo will contact affected utility companies and obtain
existing utility information for incorporation into the design documents. Carollo will
also attend meetings with these utilities as required to coordinate Jesign. Carollo
will take a pro-active approach to keeping the utilities informed of Dur progress
and in getting their feedback and comments as early as possible.
2.2 Potholing: Exaro Technologies Corporation, a subconsultant of Carollo, will
pothole the location of existing utilities identified by Carollo. Exaro will use various
techniques to locate the underground utilities, including ground penetration
equipment, radar, tracer wire, radio technologies, or magnetic technologies. Once
the utility is identified, Exaro will perform potholing using vacuum extraction
methods to locate the elevation of the utility. Carollo will use this information to
update the utility map of the project site.
2.3 Topographic Survey: Alexander&Associates, a subconsultant to Carollo, will
provide ground control, field surveying, and office support required to prepare a
topographic survey map of the project site and relevant surrounding area. The
mapping will be prepared at 20 scale with a one-foot contour interval based on the
City selected Datum. The mapping will also include surface features such as
existing roads, existing pavement, sidewalks, fences, flatwork, driveways,
buildings, and surface-visible utilities. Alexander&Associates will also show the
property lines, easements and right-of-way on the topographic survey map.
2.4 Geotechnical: Jacobs Associates, a subconsultant to Carollo, will conduct a
geotechnical investigation of the proposed pump station site by dr!ling three test
borings for the project at locations agreed upon by Carollo and the City. The depth
of the test borings will range from about 20 feet along the planned new discharge
forcemain/gravity pipeline alignment to 50 feet at the wet well at the planned
EARS Pump Station.
It is assumed the City and DSRSD will provide encroachment perrnits, and Jacobs
will not be required to obtain the permits. It is also assumed Jacobs will only
provide a final Geotechnical report.
Deliverables:
• Utility map.
• Two (2) days potholing and one (1) day of pavement restoration, which is
approximately 10 pothole utility locates.
