A motion was made by Chairperson McLane, seconded by Commissioner De Baca Martens, to <br /> approve the minutes from the January 7, 2013 meeting. The motion was approved. <br /> Commissioners Wedge and Wheeler indicated they did not attend the meeting. <br /> 3. Approve regular meeting minutes of February 4, 2013 <br /> A motion was made by Chairperson McLane, seconded by Commissioner Wedge, to approve <br /> the minutes from the February 4, 2013 meeting. The motion was approved. Commissioners <br /> Nealy and Wheeler indicated they did not attend the meeting. <br /> MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> 4. Introductions/Awards/Recognitions/Presentations <br /> Chairperson McLane welcomed new Commissioners Wedge and Wheeler and presented them <br /> with their Commissioner Certifications. <br /> 5. Public comment from the Audience regarding items not listed on the agenda <br /> There were none. <br /> MATTERS BEFORE THE COMMISSION <br /> 6. Recommendation to Allocate Community Grant Funds for Fiscal Year 2013/2014 <br /> Ms. Grose reviewed with Commissioners information regarding the 12 applications that had <br /> been received for funding under the Community Grants Program in the Civic Arts Category. <br /> She provided information about the Application Process and Funding Guidelines, noting that <br /> the Commission had identified "Incorporate outreach to new and diverse participants and/or <br /> new audience members for the arts in Pleasanton" as its priority statement. <br /> Additional information was provided regarding the ZoomGrants process and the <br /> review/evaluation process that was conducted by Commissioners prior to this meeting. Ms. <br /> Crose advised that based on application criteria and recommendations made by <br /> Commissioners after reviewing their comments and tentative voting on ZoomGrants, staff had <br /> prepared Attachment 3 to the Agenda Report, showing the Average Funding Recommendation <br /> for each application and the estimated cost per resident for each request. <br /> Chairperson McLane opened the meeting for agency presentations at 6:33 p.m. <br /> Cantabella Children's Chorus — Production of Benjamin Britten's Noye's Fludde, - Advised <br /> that their funding proposal was for a Benjamin Britten children's opera project that involved <br /> collaboration between a number of local organizations and would meet aspects of the Youth <br /> Master Plan. Funding would be used to help underwrite salaries and the cost of music, <br /> royalties, artist fees, and other expenses.
