<br /> Berkeley,West County,$880.00-Grant funds will be used to educate students about compost waste, increase
<br /> awareness,act on composting school wide,and reinforce the importance of composting. Grant funds will also be used to
<br /> purchase a composter for the garden,classroom compost containers,and compost max bins and bags.
<br /> Mini-Grant#: 12-119 NEA Community Learning Center,On-Going Paper Plate and Plastic Flatware Waste
<br /> Reduction,Alameda,West County,$1,000.00-Grant funds will be used to purchase reusable dishwasher safe plates,
<br /> bowls,forks,spoons,knifes,hand towels,and bins for transport. By eliminating disposable plates and silverware,the
<br /> school will reduce the waste going to the landfill.
<br /> Mini-Grant#: 12-120 Berkeley High School Student Leadership,Recycling Bins for the Berkeley High School
<br /> Main Courtyard,Berkeley,West County,$487.00-Grant funds will be used to purchase recycling bins that will be
<br /> placed in strategic locations around the courtyard and the new athletic stadium. These areas will be the most effective in
<br /> the effort to collect recyclables. Student Leadership is also working with the Special Education program at the school
<br /> where students are collecting,sorting and redeeming beverage containers as part of their math and vocational training.
