<br /> Students at Castlemont will be using these funds to purchase recycle bins,setting up,running and maintaining the first

<br /> classes will be responsible for setting up,collecting and sorting recycling from all classrooms and main offices on
<br /> campus.

<br /> informational signage for inside and outside the buildings to help students recycle items correctly.

<br /> Grant funds will be used to purchase pails to enhance the schools food scrap program along with a bio-pod composter that
<br /> will accommodate meat food scraps and turn them into high protein larvae for chicken feed. Large wood signs will also
<br /> be made to assist students with proper sorting.

<br /> Island Institute/Food Shift to launch a food waste awareness and action campaign in November of 2012. Food Shift will
<br /> educate communities and engage businesses around the economic,social and environmental impacts of food waste and
<br /> will provide tangible tips,tools and resources to inspire food related behavior changes.

<br /> West County,$852.81-Red Worms is a controlled process of decomposition used to transform organic material such as
<br /> kitchen scraps,yard wastes and paper products into compost. Funds from this grant will be used to purchase a compost
<br /> tumbler and other items used to improve the schools composting setup.
