The Planning Commission, having continued this item from their January 23, 2013 meeting, held a public hearing on this proposed code amendment at their February 13, 2013 meeting. Notices regarding the proposed code amendment and related public hearing were published in The Valley Times on January 13, 2013. There were no speakers from the public at the hearing. With a vote of 5-0 the Commission adopted a resolution recommending approval of the amendment to the City Council. Please refer to the Planning Commission staff report and in Attachment 2 for an in-depth discussion of the proposed amendment, and to Attachment 3 for draft Planning Commission meeting minutes. PUBLIC COMMENT No communications have been received from the public on this proposed code amendment. ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT The adoption of the 2012 Housing Element was part of the project which was described in the Supplemental Environmental Impact Report certified by the City Council on January 4, 2012. The proposed amendment to the Pleasanton Municipal Code shown in Exhibit A constitutes implementation of Program 41.9 of the Housing Element and is therefore consistent with the Housing Element project as described and analyzed in the certified SEIR. Therefore, no further environmental assessment need be conducted to adopt this code amendment.
