ATTACHMENT 1 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> AMENDING TITLE 18 OF THE PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE TO COMPLY <br /> WITH CALIFORNIA HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE SECTIONS 17021.5 AND 17021.6 <br /> AND WITH THE 2012 PLEASANTON GENERAL PLAN HOUSING ELEMENT <br /> PERTAINING TO HOUSING FOR AGRICULTURAL EMPLOYEES, AS FILED UNDER <br /> CASE P12-1785 <br /> WHEREAS, there is an identified need for housing for agricultural employees in <br /> Pleasanton; and <br /> WHEREAS, the California Employee Housing Act, including Sections 17021.5 <br /> and 17021.6 of the California Health and Safety Code, provides for local regulation of <br /> agricultural employee housing; and <br /> WHEREAS, Program 49.1 of the 2012 Pleasanton Housing Element calls for <br /> amendment of the zoning regulations to comply with the provisions of Sections 17021.5 <br /> and 17021.6 of the California Health and Safety Code; and <br /> WHEREAS, a Supplemental Environmental Impact Report prepared for the 2012 <br /> Pleasanton Housing Element was certified by the City Council on January 4, 2012, and <br /> the proposed code amendment, being consistent with the 2012 Pleasanton Housing <br /> Element, requires no additional environmental review; and <br /> WHEREAS, at its meeting of February 13, 2013, the Planning Commission <br /> recommended that the City Council amend Title 18 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code to <br /> conform with State law and to implement the Housing Element regarding agricultural <br /> employee housing; and <br /> WHEREAS, at its meeting of March 5, 2013, the City Council reviewed the report <br /> of the Director of Community Development and the recommendations of the Planning <br /> Commission regarding amendment of Title 18 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code <br /> regarding agricultural employee housing. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. The City Council finds that the proposed amendments to the <br /> Pleasanton Municipal Code are consistent with the Pleasanton General Plan. <br /> SECTION 2. The amendment of Title 18 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code <br /> addressing agricultural employee housing is adopted as set forth in Exhibit A, attached <br /> hereto and incorporated herein by this reference. <br /> 1 <br />
