amount of $68,051.76 to reimburse Alameda County for the work performed under the
County contract.
West Las Positas Boulevard at Tassajara Creek Road Repair
This project will repair the on-going roadway settlement on West Las Positas at
Tassajara Creek.
The roadway section on West Las Positas Boulevard adjacent to Tassajara Creek
continues to settle and crack. Street maintenance staff has provided on-going patching
to this roadway section as a temporary measure and frequent maintenance has not
resolved the settlement problem.
This project will provide a long term solution to this roadway settlement and provide a
safe travel roadway to motorists. The project will include light weigh: fill beneath the
roadway surface, replacing sinking concrete curb/gutter and sidewalk, repairing isolated
pavement distress, and overlaying the roadway with a new layer of asphalt concrete.
This project is already included in the Capital Improvement Program (CIP 115014), with
a project cost estimate of $200,000 to be funded with gas tax funds. Due to an increase
in the area of roadway settlement, additional funding of $50,000 is needed for this
project.
Annual Resurfacing of Various City Streets
This annual project involves the resurfacing of various City streets to assure
conformance with City maintenance standards. Streets to be resurfaced will be
determined based upon conclusions reached as part of Pavement Condition Survey
studies. When resurfacing thoroughfares, the asphalt mix will be open-graded to
attenuate tire noise, slightly increasing the cost of resurfacing. Included as part of this
project is the replacement of existing traffic loop detectors and the reconstruction of
pavement surface approaches to signalized intersections where broken pavement can
no longer hold traffic loops in place. This is an existing Capital Improvement Program
(CIP 125003) and the additional funding for this project will increase the scope of
improvements to Pleasanton roadways. The remaining balance of the Vehicle
Registration Fee money, $513,434.24, will be applied to this project.
Submitted by: Fiscal Review: Approved by:
/jyA ((lefty
Brian Dolan Emily Vtlagner Nelson Fialho
Director of Director of Finance City Manager
Community Development
Attachment:
1.
