Ordinance No. 1886 Page 2 of 3 Section 3: (1) A dwelling unit occupying a separate, legal lot or parcel (example: a detached single family home or paired or attached single-family home); (2) A primary dwelling unit located on the same site as a second unit whether the second unit is detached or attached to the primary unit, but a second unit meeting the requirements in Chapter 18.06 is not considered a single-family dwelling unit; (3) A dwelling unit which is part of a structure containing no more than two (2) dwelling units where both dwelling units are located on the same parcel of land (examples: duplexes, duets). b. "Multiple-family dwelling unit" shall mean: (1) A dwelling unit which is part of a larger structure including three (3) or more units and which does not occupy its own separate or individual lot or parcel; (2) A dwelling unit which is part of a larger structure including three (3) or more units which occupies its own separate or individual lot or parcel, and which is separated from adjacent units by a building wall extending from ground to roof (example: townhomes); (3) A dwelling unit which is part of a larger structure including two (2) or more units which may be owned separately (but does not occupy ground space), and which is separated from adjacent units by a building wall extending from floor to ceiling (example: condominiums); or Mobile homes in which two (2) or more units are located on the same parcel of land (example: mobile homes located in mobile home or trailer parks in which the land is owned in common by a single owner). Section 19.44.120, "Exemptions," of the Pleasanton Municipal Code is amended to include the following provisions: The provisions of this Chapter do not apply to a second unit meeting the requirements in Chapter 18.06.
