Special Salar}, Rates - <br /> <br /> Subject to budgetary appropriation, appointments may be made to <br />positions outside the Plan of Classification and Pay and the salary range <br />or rate for such an employee or consultant for such special positions shall <br />be determined by the City Council. <br /> <br /> SECTION 9. Other Rm~lo~ment Benefits - <br /> <br /> Employees working under appointments to positions included in the <br />Plan of Classification an~ Pay which involve one-half (½) time or more shall <br />be entitled to the following employment benefits: <br /> <br /> a) Retirement benefits according to a contract with the State <br />Employees Retirement~ System shall be available to City ~loyees in accord- <br />anco with the rules and regulations pertaining thereto. <br /> <br /> b) Sick leave credit for City employees shall accumulate at the <br />rate of one (1) da~ per month of service from the date of employment, pro- <br />vided however that actual leave may not be taken during the first six (6) <br />months of employment. Sick leave credit for prior service shall be granted <br />at the rate of five (5) days per year of service, prorated to the nearest <br />full day for a fraction of one year of service. <br /> <br /> Sick leave credit may he accumulated to a maximum of ninety ~)0) <br /> <br />days. <br /> <br /> Sick leave is a privilege and not a right. Actual leave may be <br />granted only in the event of an actual disability of the employee prevent- <br />ing performance of his duties. A doctors' certificate may be required a <br />condition to the granting of sick leave. <br /> <br /> c) Bereavement Leave of three (3) days may be granted in the <br />event of a death in the immediate family of the e~uloyee. <br /> <br /> d) The following holidays shall be observed by the City and <br />employees required to work on holidays or in lieu thereof shall receive <br /> <br /> <br />
