PLEASANTON TOD STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES: BART PROPERTY 111
CIRCULATION STRATEGY:VEHICLES AND BUSES
7BNAY
CNVEN S DRIVE
81 I
VEHICULAR CIRCULATION
The circulation strategy for the BART Property is to create a loop road for passenger drop-off and pick-
up (kiss and ride), shuttle, and taxi access. A new traffic signal will be located at the intersection of Loop
Road/Iron Horse Trail and Owens Drive. Owens drive is designed as a multi-way boulevard to create a
"village" atmosphere between the Iron Horse Trail and Willow Road intersections with diagonal parking
located on the access lanes adjacent to the retail uses.
Access to the eastern parking structure is from two entries from the BART Access Road and a right in,
right out entrance on Owens Drive. The BART Access Road is a bus-only route after the western-most
entrance to the eastern parking structure. The western parking structure can be entered and exited off
the Loop Drive and a right in, right out entrance on Owens Drive.
Regional and local buses will continue to use the BART Access Road to reach the station drop-off bus
stop area under the overpass and the bus bays on the Dublin and Pleasanton sides of 1-580. Local
private shuttles will primarily use the Loop Drive for passenger pick-up and drop-off. Depending on the
configuration of the Hacienda Gateway Plaza, the shuttle area will either share space with the kiss and
ride location or be located adjacent to the Hacienda Gateway Plaza.
7 WORKSHOP DRAFT
