PLEASANTON TOD STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES: BART PROPERTY
CIRCULATION STRATEGY: PEDESTRIAN AND BIKE
PCMMT-3 RCM
w,s arro w
+11 voravE,
_.- 7BMA \
:N
I •i
PEDESTRIAN AND BIKE CIRCULATION
Pedestrian and bike circulation is enhanced with a new signal at the Iron Horse Trail/Owens Drive
intersection and a new pedestrian path connecting Owens Drive with Gibraltar Drive. The new Hacienda
Gateway and BART plazas create new open spaces and provide a strong pedestrian and visual
connection to Owens Drive and the Iron Horse Trail. New bike lanes along Willow Road and Owens
Drive and the build out of the Iron Horse Trail will provide enhanced bike access to Hacienda and the
rest of Pleasanton. Cyclists will be required to walk their bikes through the TOD and station areas,
where the trail ends at the BART plaza. The plan conforms to East Bay Regional Parks District's Iron
Horse Trail Feasibility Study and Master Plan and the City of Pleasanton's Pedestrian and Bicycle Master
Plan, as well as the BART station safety standards.
June 17, 2011 8 WORKSHOP DRAFT
