following features which are not available on the current software: Internet access for
all subscribers both at home and work; email notification of available overtime, ability to
request time off using the program, thus eliminating the need for paper requests; alerts
to indicate when an employee has exceeded his/her available time off hours; and the
ability to generate reports to track overtime, sick leave, and vacation usage. ISELINK is
hosted over the internet, thus eliminating the upfront costs associated with enterprise
software.
• SWAT Gas Masks $11,100
Members of the East County Tactical Team are required to carry gas masks during a
variety of tactical missions, during which chemical agents may be deployed. Currently
team members use gas masks issued to them for patrol. Although these masks are
appropriate for patrol functions they do not have voice modulators or communications
accessories necessary for tactical operations. With limited visibility, due to wear and
tear on the current gas masks, and poor communications the Tactical Team members
have increased difficulty working in environments where chemical agents are deployed.
The purchase of new gas masks will provide team members with the ability to
communicate with one another and provide improved vision through the mask with new
lenses.
• SWAT Uniforms $7,000
SWAT personnel need to replace worn and distressed tactical uniforms. The new
uniform is extremely durable and designed for harsh outdoor conditions. The uniform
incorporates several unique technologies such as built-in adjustable and removable
knee and elbow pads. The uniform also has a padded waist band and high-mobility
stretch panels in the knees and back. The shirt is designed specifically to be worn
under a tactical vest where it will keep the wearer cool. The shirt is also fire resistant.
The purchase of this uniform meets the demanding needs of the tactical team and will
provide uniformity for all team members.
• SWAT Sniper Rifles $20,100
Currently the SWAT team uses sniper rifles which utilize older technology; the older of
the two rifles was purchased 15 years ago. Since that time numerous advances in
weapon reliability, accuracy, and safety, as well as significant advances in optics has
been made. The SWAT team desires to purchase new sniper rifles, including high
quality scopes which allow a high transmission of light and high resolution. The
purchase would also include suppressors to effectively reduce sound at the muzzle,
conceal muzzle flash/blast, and reduce recoil.
• Video Camera $3,000
The Police Department's Crime Prevention Unit intends to revamp and upgrade the
"COPPS in Pleasanton" television show as well as develop a regular webcast. This
webcast will be linked to the Police Department's website. Currently the police
department possesses older model analog camcorders. These camcorders have low
Page 3 of 7
