w <br /> KIER WRIGHT <br /> Civil Engineers Surveyors, Inc. <br /> Attachment I:Surveying Methodology- Brief summary of the overall history of the block <br /> dimensioning in this area <br /> A) Oakland Land Company Map, 1894 <br /> a. The lots. blocks and roadways in the immediate area were originally shown on the "Amended <br /> • Map of the Oakland Land and Improvement Co's Subdivision of a portion of the Santa Rita <br /> Ranch at Pleasanton Alameda Co. Cal 1894" filed for record on June 20. 1894 and posted in <br /> Book 14 of Maps at Page 20. Alameda County records. On this map there were 24 lots. labeled <br /> A thru X in the area hounded by the East line of Oakland Avenue. the North line of Pleasanton <br /> Avenue (now known as Mohr Avenue), the west line of Martin Avenue and the South line of <br /> Santa Rita Avenue (now known as Trenery Drive). <br /> h. The dimensions of these lots were all 544.5 feet deep in the North/Si.,uth direction and 400 feet <br /> wide in the east/west direction. They were arranged into 4 tiers of 6 lots each with the two center <br /> tiers being divided by a street designated as Camron Avenue on the map. <br /> c. For the purposes of discussion all dimensions labeled hereinafter as "record' will relate to the <br /> mathematical information shown on this 1894 map for the lots and roadways. All of these <br /> quoted "record dimensions" can he observed on this map by the use of simple addition and <br /> subtraction. <br /> B) Parcel Map 1558. 1974 <br /> In 1974 the firm of McKay and Sumps prepares Parcel Map 1558 (84m62) which is a subdivision <br /> adjacent to the area in question. In order to resolve the exterior boundary of their subdivision they <br /> retraced and resolved the area hounded by Mohr Avenue. Martin Avenue.Trenery Drive and Oakland <br /> Avenue. They recovered existing survey markers and then show the mathematical information <br /> around this two block area. A comparison of their findings is: <br /> a. Along Mohr from Martin to Oakland: measured 2459.15' vs. "record''of 2460' <br /> h. Atong Trenery from Martin to Oakland: measured 2459.42' vs. "record'of 2460' <br /> c. Along Martin from Mohr to Trenery: measured 2249.27' vs. "record of 2248' (note: the <br /> dimension line in Mohr is 40' south of the southerly property line of lots a dru E) <br /> d. Along Oakland Avenue from Mohr to Trenery: measured 2248.74' vs. "record"of 2248' <br /> The largest discrepancy they found was 127 feet in a north and south direction in the retracenent of <br /> an 80 year old subdivision. <br /> C) Parcel Map 2547, 1978 <br /> In 1978 the firm of Archer and Barbee prepared Parcel Map 2547 (105m14) which is a subdivision <br /> generally hounded on the North by Trenery Drive. on the South by Cameron Avenue, on the East by <br /> Martin Avenue and on the west by the dividing line between original lots V/U and 0/P. This map <br /> covers the majority of original lots P.Q.R.S.T and U. They recovered existing survey markers and <br /> then show the mathematical information around this area. A comparison of their findings is: <br /> • a. Along Cameron from Martin westerly to the dividing line between lots O and P: measured <br /> • 1199.73' vs. -record- 1200' <br /> h. Along Trenery from Martin westerly to the dividing line between lots O and P: measured <br /> 1199.94 vs. 1200' record. <br /> c. Along Martin hoe Cameron to'Trenery: measured 1119.70 vs. record 1 119'. <br /> d.
