The program also replaced several old water heaters with <br /> new high efficiency Energy Star units. <br /> Staff discussed with Commissioners the City's policy regarding unspent funds and program <br /> income from repaid loans. <br /> Open Heart Kitchen/Ridge View Commons Senior Hot Meal Program — Linda McKeever — <br /> thanked the Commission for its support and advised that a total of 12,771 nutritious meals were <br /> provided to 211 unduplicated low-income seniors. <br /> Open Heart Kitchen/Trinity Lutheran Hot Meal Program — Linda McKeever — A total of 10,020 <br /> meals were provided to 383 Pleasanton seniors. Outreach activities to promote the program <br /> continue and the agency strives to provide an entertaining and inviting dining experience as well <br /> as nutritious meals. A boxed lunch program with one (1) Pleasanton elementary school is being <br /> fully funded by a local wine growers association. <br /> Spectrum Community Services/Meals-on-Wheels Program — Tara Marino — Funds received <br /> allowed the agency to supply 11,129 home-delivered meals to 78 unduplicated homebound <br /> seniors. <br /> Spectrum Community Services/Senior Congregate Meal Program — Tara Marino — Spectrum <br /> registered 326 seniors in the program, and a total of 8,306 meals were served over the course of <br /> the year. Spectrum staff worked closely with the seniors to enhance their dining experience and <br /> refer them to other services as needed. <br /> The Arc of Alameda County/Alternative Ventures Program — Richard Fitzmaurice — Thanked the <br /> Commission for the funds allocated that have helped Arc staff conduct 11 excursions to 10 <br /> different venues miles from home base making for more complex and educational experiences <br /> for their participants. <br /> Tri-Cities Health Center/East County HIV Program — Juliana Schirmer — This program filled a <br /> gap in HIV services by allowing for the continuation of the Livermore office to serve the Tri- <br /> Valley area. Clients were able to access lifesaving services without having to travel to Oakland <br /> or Fremont. A total of 20 Pleasanton residents were served by the program. <br /> Tri-Valley Haven/Shiloh DV Shelter Handicap Improvements — Ann Kinq — Thanked the <br /> Commission for support of all Tri-Valley Haven programs. She advised that the handicap ramp <br /> and parking lot improvements were completed. <br /> Tri-Valley Haven/Food Pantry Project — Ann King — The Food Pantry provided free food to <br /> households along with toiletries, household items, clothing vouchers, emergency transportation <br /> and housing. Referral information to local social services programs and agencies was also <br /> provided. An increase in the number and frequency of clientele has been noticed.
