Tri-Valley Haven/Counseling and TRO Clinic — Ann King. — This program provided counseling <br /> and Temporary Restraining Orders for 88 low-income residents. The clinic provided help to <br /> those with limited English speaking abilities, <br /> Tri-Valley Haven/Sojourner House Emergency Shelter Operations — Ann King — This is the only <br /> homeless program in the area that takes intact two-parent households and single-fathers. It also <br /> accepts children of all ages. Sojourner assists families in identifying barriers they face in <br /> becoming self-sufficient as well as securing safe and affordable housing. <br /> Tri-Valley Haven/Shiloh DV Shelter Operations — Ann King — This facility sheltered 172 adults <br /> and 137 children for a total of 309 (five (5) were Pleasanton residents). TVH maintained its full <br /> number of beds and did not reduce any services. <br /> Tri-Valley Housing Opportunity Center/TVHOC Renovation — Milly Seibel — Renovation of an <br /> affordable rental housing unit above the office of the nonprofit housing agency enhanced the <br /> quality of life for the senior tenant. Areas completely rehabbed included the front room, kitchen, <br /> bath, and laundry room. <br /> Chairperson Nagler closed the meeting for agency presentations at 7:55 p.m. <br /> Mr. Erickson reviewed with the Commission a PowerPoint presentation which provided a <br /> summary of statistics for each of the agencies and the CDBG funds they had received in FY <br /> 2010, use of the funds, sub recipient accomplishments/project status, performance measures, <br /> and information regarding the households and/or persons assisted. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Roby, seconded by Commissioner Wright, recommending <br /> staff finalize the required Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) for <br /> Fiscal Year 2010 for submission to HUD. <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE: <br /> AYES: Commissioners Berger, Lambert, Roby, Rowland, Wilson, Wright, and Chairperson <br /> Nagler. <br /> NOES: None. <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> 5. Discuss Potential Merger of the Housing and Human Services Commissions <br /> Chairperson Nagler and Mr. Bocian advised that at the April 19, 2011 City Council meeting, <br /> Council had approved a staff recommendation to initiate a process of reviewing the potential for <br /> combining the Housing and Human Services Commissions into one single Commission. <br /> Mr. Bocian advised that to conduct this process, staff would be providing both commissions with <br /> general information outlining issues, opportunities, and a potential structure. To help with the <br /> process, staff was proposing at least three (3) commission meetings be held in August, October, <br /> and November 2011.
