r. Adopt Resolution No. 99-112 setting compensation for management and confidential
employees of the City of Pleasanton. (SR99:257)
s. Approve the consultant agreement with ATI Architects and Engineers for the remodel
and addition to 200 Old Bernal Avenue, CIP 958073. (SR99:250)
t. Authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with Stone & Youngberg LLC for
financial advisory services related to the possible purchase of the San Francisco Bernal
Avenue property. (SR99:251)
5. MEETING OPEN TO TFIE PUBLIC
Bob Cordtz, 242 West Angela, asked for an update regarding the wastewater that was
drained onto the San Francisco Bernal Avenue property from the Fairgrounds. He also had a
concern with the machines that were removed at the new school site.
Ms. Michelotti said staff is working on scheduling a meeting with the Fair Liaison
Committee to discuss this issue.
Ms. Acosta indicated the spillage was a County responsibility and staff is waiting for
information from the County to give to Mr. Cordtz.
Jack Hovingh, 4250 Muirwood Drive, had concerns that the process to obtain the property
for a golf course was being rushed and urged Council to take its time in making decisions.
Phillip Trapani, Chris Testa, Taylor Yapp, Scott Silveira, and John DeCoito, asked for
support in locating and constructing a BMX bike jump in the City of Pleasanton. The young adults
also had concerns with the traffic signal at Valley and Bernal Avenue.
Jim Wolfe said the City is looking at purchasing property at Santa Rita and Stoneridge for a
BMX site. He indicated that most of the sites that the youth have been using has been on private
property and because of liability concerns the property owners are bulldozing down the jumps.
Commissioner Mike Sedlak has agreed to meet with the youth to get their input and move forward
with the project. Bill van Udder mentioned the traffic signal at Valley and Bernal has been
reviewed and the crosswalk was changed to the west side. He indicated that he would also meet
with the youth to receive their concerns.
Chris Testa, 3494 Torlano Court, said he has been talking to pool companies that would be
willing to dump dirt on a temporary site until a permanent site could be obtained. He suggested
using the property at Val Vista.
Pleasanton City Council 4 08/23/99
Minutes
