Tri-Valley Water Retailers Cooperation Agreement Page 2 Agreement; H. DSRSD, CWS, and Pleasanton share a common interest in the adequate and reliable provision of water service by Zone 7; Livermore and DSRSD desire for Pleasanton and CWS to enter into this The Parties (as hereinafter defined) have a common interest in other issues affecting their water supplies including a commitment to the use of recycled water within their service areas to promote the efficient use of water. DSRSD and Livermore each own and operate a wastewater treatment plant capable of producing recycled water for beneficial uses; and I. The ability of the Parties to continue to provide adequate and reliable service to current and future residents in their service areas depends on Zone 7 engaging in a regional water planning effort that is responsive to the needs and issues of the retailers. To enable the Parties to more effectively influence Zone 7's planning and implementation efforts, the Parties by this Agreement commit to seek, and provide a mechanism to facilitate, coordinated monitoring of and input into Zone 7's regional water planning and implementation efforts. NOW THEREFORE, each Party to this Agreement agrees as follows: 1. OBJECTIVES OF THIS AGREEMENT The objectives of this Agreement are to ach/eve for the Parties a safe and reliable water supply, to acknowledge and identify issues that the Parties have in common, to establish a forum to enhance communication and cooperation among the Parties, and to initiate a process for mutual and coordinated efforts of the Parties to review and influence Zone 7 policies, procedures, actions, and non-actions on water supply issues of mutual concern.
