Ordinance No. <br /> Page 9 <br /> A. A consumer's water service may be discontinued for nonpayment of a bill for water <br /> service furnished if the bill is not paid within thirty (30)4-5 days after it has become <br /> delinquent. A consumer's water service may also be discontinued for nonpayment of a bill <br /> for water service furnished at a previous or different location served by the city, if such bill is <br /> not paid within thirty_(301 days after it has become delinquent. No service will be <br /> discontinued under this subsection until at least five (5) days after deposit by written notice <br /> from the director to such consumer in the United States Post office of Pleasanton, Alameda <br /> County, California, addressed to the person to whom notice is given and stating the city's <br /> intention to discontinue service. The city may also provide additional notice about <br /> discontinuance of water service by telephone contact, and /or a door hanger with written <br /> notice on the main entrance of the building where water service is furnished. <br /> D. Upon failure of any consumer billed or the owner of any premises to pay any water <br /> service charge subsequent to delinquency, the following action shall be taken by the city or <br /> the director to enforce such payment: <br /> In each case where any bill for water service remains unpaid after such bill becomes <br /> delinquent, and remains unpaid for thirty (30) 60 days thereafter the director shall: (1) <br /> disconnect the premises from the water system for nonpayment of water bills, and (2) cause <br /> an action at law to be brought on behalf of the city against the person responsible for <br /> payment of such bill to recover the amount of such bill and the costs of such action. <br /> E. Whenever any prernises have been disconnected from the water system for any violation <br /> of this chapter, such premises shall not be reconnected to the water system until all <br /> delinquent charges have been paid, together with applicable a rcconncction charges as <br /> provided in the Master Fee Schedule of $5.00 for reconnection of service during regular <br /> 0.00 for rcconncction of service at any timc other than during regular <br /> e consumer has requested that rcconncction be made at such other <br /> time, and until a security deposit credit is established pursuant to Section 14.04.07580. <br /> When any person's premises have been disconnected from the water system under the <br /> provisions of this subsection, the director shall inform him or her of the reason for the <br /> disconnection and of his or her right of appeal under this chapter. <br /> {Subsections 8. and C. of Section 14.04.130 are unchanged} <br /> I. Amend Chapter 17.16 Tree Preservation as follows: <br /> (1) amend Section 17.16.006 Definitions, subsection E., as follows: <br /> E.
