Resolution No. PC-2002-22 <br />Page 5 <br />and/or recyclable materials which aze not proposed to be reused or recycled, as required by the <br />Plan. <br />Section 9.21.020. Covered Projects. <br />a. Covered Projects: All construction or renovation projects the total project values <br />of which aze, or are projected to be, greater than or equal to five hundred thousand dollazs <br />($500,000.) and all demolition projects the total project values of which are, or are projected to <br />be, greater than or equal to twenty-five thousand dollazs ($25,000.) ("Covered Projects") shall <br />comply with this Chapter. The City's Chief Building Official shall have the discretion to <br />determine if a Covered Project requires a building permit and/or a demolition permit. <br />The total project value thresholds referenced above shall be increased or decreased based <br />upon the annual change in the Consumer Price Index for the San Francisco-Bay Area, provided <br />that no change shall take effect until it reaches a cumulative increment of at least five thousand <br />dollazs ($5,000), and then shall be rounded to the neazest five thousand dollars ($5,000). <br />b. Noncovered Projects: Applicants for construction or renovation projects whose <br />total project values are less than five hundred thousand dollazs ($500,000.) or demolition projects <br />whose total project values are less than twenty-five thousand dollars ($25.000.) (collectively <br />"Noncovered Projects") aze encouraged to divert at least fifty (50) percent of all project-related <br />construction and demolition debris. <br />The City's Chief Building Official shall have the discretion to determine if a Noncovered <br />Project requires a building permit and/or a demolition permit. <br />c. City-Sponsored Projects: All City-sponsored construction or renovation projects, <br />whose total project values are greater than or equal to five hundred thousand dollazs ($500,000.) <br />or demolition projects whose total project values aze greater than or equal to twenty-five <br />thousand dollazs ($25,000), shall be considered "Covered Projects" for the purposes of this <br />Chapter and shall submit a Waste Management Plan to the Compliance Official prior to <br />beginning any construction or demolition activities and shall be subject to all applicable <br />provisions of this Chapter. <br />d. Compliance: Compliance with the provisions of this Chapter shall be a <br />requirement of any building or demolition permit issued for a Covered Project. <br />Section 9.21.030. Submission of Recyclable Materials Management Plan. <br />Plan Forms: Applicants for building or demolition permits involving any Covered Project shall <br />complete and submit, with the Applicants' first plan check, a Recyclable Materials Management <br />
