Public Art <br />Commissioner Maas - not the proper place for public art <br />Commissioner Roberts - concurred with Commissioner Maas <br />Commissioner Arkin - the building itself should be part of the asset to the community <br />Commissioner Sullivan - if designed correctly, it doesn't need art <br />Commissioner Kameny - applicant should contribute to the fund for art in public places <br />Commissioner Harvey - no comment <br /> <br />2. Orientation of the proposed car wash <br />Commissioner Maas - not in favor of the car wash <br />Commissioner Sullivan - not in favor of the car wash <br />Commissioner Harvey - no problem with the orientation of the car wash; ambient noise <br />will not be a problem, as the level of ambient noise is already fairly high in that area. <br />Commissioner Roberts - a trellis could be installed above both the entrance and exit <br /> <br />3. Layout of buildings <br />Commissioner Kameny - leave it the way it is <br />Commissioner Sullivan - leave it the way it is if there is a large gas station on the site; if <br />the use is different, the layout might be different <br /> <br />r <br /> <br />4. Pedestrian access <br />Commissioner Sullivan - the path is a good idea for the apartments; could have an access <br />in the back to avoid walking across the gas station area <br />Commissioner Maas - address pedestrian access from all areas <br /> <br />Circulation and Parking <br /> <br />1. Commissioner Maas -would like to see a left turn lane available from the driveway exit on <br />to Valley Avenue <br />Commissioner Arkin - concurred with Commissioner Maas <br />The Commission agreed that the type of establishment that is appropriate for the site would <br />determine the amount of restaurant seating and parking. <br /> <br />Landscaping <br /> <br />1. Commissioner Roberts - appropriate to add sycamore trees or whatever type of tree that <br />will be planted to replace the walnut trees that were removed <br />Commissioner Harvey - sycamore trees would be appropriate to help tie the landscaping in <br />with what is there <br />Commissioner Sullivan - also tie it in with the landscaping that will be installed for the <br />residential development <br /> <br />2.
