r- Mr. Rasmussen presented the staff report, providing an overview of the Planing Commission's
first public hearing on this item held on November 28. He noted that at that time the
Commission requested additional information on incentives. He advised that the City's
consultant is present to talk about the kinds of incentives that are available for projects with
historic landmark designations.

Bridget Maley of Architectural Resources Group described the types of incentives that are
available from the federal government and the state, and those that could be offered by the City.

Discussion ensued regarding the length of time the incentives apply and the process for
removing or changing the designation of historical buildings.

Commissioner Roberts moved to continue this item to the January 23, 2002 meeting.
Commissioner Sullivan seconded the motion.

ROLL CALL VOTE

AYES:
NOES:
ABSENT:
ABSTAIN:

Commissioners Arkin, Harvey, Maas, Roberts, and Sullivan
None
Commissioner Kameny
None

r-

The motion carried.

d. MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS

Commissioner Harvey advised that someone mentioned to him today that they had a conditional
use permit to bring before the Commission, that would probably be a very quick item. He stated
that there may be many of these types of applications that need to come before the Commission
but they are pushed out to future agendas because of the longer agenda items.
