<br />Chairperson Sullivan asked if there is a condition for staff to complete a visual or dimensional <br />,,-- check of the actual tree in comparison to the drawing to ensure that it is built according to the <br />design. Ms. Kline advised that staff does a site inspection routinely with all development <br />projects. She explained that the project would not receive a final sign-off until the project is <br />completed as approved. <br /> <br />Commissioner Maas suggested that a condition be added requiring that a visual of the completed <br />project be submitted to the Planning Commission. Commissioner Roberts suggested that the <br />commissioners visit the site when the project is completed. Ms. Seto suggested that visuals of <br />the completed project be provided to the Planning Commission and ifthere are any concerns <br />these can be addressed prior to the project receiving a final. <br /> <br />In response to a question from Chairperson Sullivan, Ms. Seto advised that there is a provision in <br />the City's ordinance requiring the removal of the tree pole, should the operation of the facility <br />cease. She further advised that a bond will be posted to ensure the removal. <br /> <br />THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED <br /> <br />COMMENTS FROM THE APPLICANT <br /> <br />,-- <br /> <br />Pat Sausedo, 4634 Chabot Drive, represented Sprint PCS and Nextel Communications. Ms. <br />Sausedo described the proposed antenna, noting that it completely adheres to the City's <br />telecommunications policy with regard to setbacks. She noted that Mr. Peter Hillard ofNextel <br />and Mr. Dennis Martin are present to answer any specific questions. She advised that they are <br />requesting the change to Condition #8, as stated by Ms. Kline. <br /> <br />Commissioner Arkin asked if there is a contingency plan to bring in an emergency tower should <br />this facility become inoperable. Ms. Sausedo advised that they have temporary facilities on <br />trailers that can be set on site and made operational until the permanent facility can be repaired. <br /> <br />THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED <br /> <br />Commissioner Maas moved approval of Case PDR-84, subject to the conditions of the staff <br />report, with a modification to Condition #8, changing "property owner" to "applicant," <br />and requiring that before and after visuals be provided to the Planning Commission to <br />guarantee that the tree has been constructed as proposed.
