REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Mr. Pavan advised that the representatives for Providian Bancorp are requesting that this item <br />not be continued indefinitely as stated on the agenda, but that it be continued to the August 22 <br />agenda for a public hearing. He noted that staff feels this would be appropriate. Discussion <br />ensued regarding the items scheduled for the August 22 agenda. <br /> <br />Commissioner Roberts moved to continue Item 6.a., PUD-80-16-19D & 11M, Providian <br />Bancorp, to the first meeting in September. Workshop to review a proposal to construct a wireless communications facility <br />consisting of an approximately 52-foot tall artificial tree, 21 panel antennas, and 3 <br />global positioning satellite (GPS) antennas at 7315 Johnson Drive. Zoning for the <br />property is Planned Unit Development - General and Limited Industrial District. <br /> <br />Mr. Pavan provided history of the project and an overview of the materials provided in the <br />agenda packet for the Commission's review. He described the proposed project, including <br />information regarding the height of the tree pole and the position of the antennas. He <br />commented on the peer review conducted by Mr. Gruchawka. Mr. Pavan noted that an <br />application was submitted by Cingular Wireless to install a flagpole with antennas inside the pole <br />on the Lock-It-Up storage building on Johnson Drive. <br /> <br />Mr. Pavan advised that the proposed tree pole which has been presented to staff is a really good <br />attempt by the applicant to achieve stealth, but additional information needs to be provided to <br />complete the application. He further advised that staff is recommending that the Planning <br />Commission review the staff report and accompanying materials, take testimony on the proposal, <br />and provide direction as stated in the staff report. <br /> <br />Commissioner Roberts stated that she would like to have the applicant advise if the antennas <br />could be painted a different color. <br /> <br />/""' <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES <br /> <br />August 8,2001 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br />
